Adelina's 3rd Birthday Party

Today we had your 3rd birthday party. We decided to have it 2 days early since daddy goes back to work from leave (time off) on the 20th and also the end of the world thing lol. Earlier in the year you wanted to have a Toy Story theme, then you changed it to "pink princess" and finally decided on Tangled. We ordered your cake from a bakery called Nadine's. It was my first time ever using a bakery outside of walmart/frys/albertsons etc. Daddy and I were so pleased with the cake. It was a white cake, butter cream icing and a layer inside of chocolate moose.

We planned a HUGE party for 15 adults and 15 kids b/c I am OCD and didn't want to not have enough haha. Your dad was a good sport about everything and never put up a fuss about money. We ordered 8 large pizzas had a fruit tray, 30 individual ice cream cups, 4 12 packs of soda, water bottles and a giant pack of juice boxes. Needless to say our fridge is now PACKED! We had super cute Tangled decorations. And played a pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey Tangled theme game

I had bubbles and chalk outside for your friends, and we did a pinata too. We opened presents and then said good bye to our friends. You said "Good bye thank you for coming to my birthday party" =) So polite! We all had fun and clean-up afterwards was a snap because daddy helped me a lot. We worked together and your 3rd birthday was a hit. We love you so much honey! Happy Birthday

Monsters Inc.

I borrowed the movie from Nicole and Ade watched it for the first time ever today =) She loves it! After we left her house we went and got ice cream from mcdonalds.

Missing My Own Mommy

I just sang Ade a lullaby that I've only ever sang to her twice before. The first time kind of came out of nowhere, the second time I got a little choked up, and tonight I full on just had to go into the kitchen to cry after I laid her down. My mom use to sing it to me when I was little. I just miss her so much. My heart squeezes in my chest and I hold my breath for a few seconds, my throat closes up really tight... because if feels like my heart is breaking. I haven't seen her for 2 and 1/2 years. Ade was only 1 month old last time my mom and I were together. I wish we lived closer. I really need her.

Couldn't Live Without It

Ade's favorite night time thing aside from her beloved Penny (sentsy stuffed animal pig) is her Cloud b Lady bug. It lights up her room with stars in 3 different colors and has a 45 minute timer on it. I love it so much I'd sell them if I could lol. Here are some pictures of it!

When I point to a picture of Shirley Temple and ask Ade "who is this?" she says "Oh! That's Ade". So so cute. I think she does look a little like her.

Ade has been doing so great at potty training we decided she deserved a trip to Toys-R-Us!
We got her a baby doll, a view master, and some reward stickers!

Light Off Please

So I have always had a hard time with Ade and sleeping. There was rarely a time when she went to sleep without crying first and more rare was her sleeping through the night. When we put her into a toddler bed December 2011 she would never sleep in it and spent most nights sleeping on the floor with her face pressed up to the crack underneath her door. I would have to sneak in and put her in bed once she was out. I started leaving the light on in her room (she always had a night light btw) around February 2012 and developed a solid sleep schedule. We wake up at 8am every day no matter what, nap is at 10am, no sleeping past 1pm bed time 11pm. I have tried every other time under the sun, but this is what works for our family. I would love to wake up at 8am her nap an hour around noon and go to bed at 7pm, but it doesn't work. We have been going strong on this sleep schedule for almost 5 months now and it has made life so much easier. So guess what happened tonight? After we brushed our teeth and read Ade a bed time story we were walking out of her bedroom and she said "momma dadda light off please" =-0 WHOA haha we were like "uh okay"and turned the light off. I set her up with her cloud b lady bug that displays stars on the ceiling and closed the door and then guess what... she didn't cry and fell right to sleep. It was amazing =)

Potty Champ!

ADE!!!!!!!!!!! You are a potty champion!!!!!
Yesterday Ade used the potty 7 times with NO ACCIDENTS and we just started 6 days ago. I'll post a picture of the completed potty chart at the end of the month. I am seriously amazed and so proud =D

Potty Training

Today is the first day of SERIOUS potty training Ade boot camp lol. I made her a sticker chart and Jesse and I decorated it together =) So far today she has gone twice with not even 1 accident (this picture was taken after the first time). She is using the little girl potty b/c we were not having any success with the seat on top of the big girl potty. Her sticker chart is beside the big girl potty for easy transition. She tells me before she has to go pee pee or poo poo ahh I am so proud. In 8 days she will be 2 and 1/2.

2 Years and 5 Months Old

Today you are 2 years and 5 months old. I'm treasuring each month because you are growing up so quick, and will be off to school before I know it! Not too long ago I wrote an update but since then I remembered some more stuff and you have been doing some new things.

You feed your Daddy and I imaginary food out of your hand and you make the sound effects.
You have massive temper tantrums where you lay flat on your back and wiggle all around while screaming. You will have a tantrum when you can't eat all the cookies, when you can't color on the walls etc.
You say "Come on Mommy!"
You love to dance and twirl around with your hands above your head with your finger tips touching like a ballerina.
You roll you cars everywhere. Up and down my arms, on the walls, on the chairs. You LOVE cars.
You mimic everything.
Riding your tricycle outside is one of your most favorite things to do, and you are great at it. I like to go on walks and you ride beside me. Never once do you drive off the sidewalk. You are a pro.
You have "chores" around the house to help you become a big girl. You are in charge of putting the wet clothes I hand you out of the wash into the dryer and closing the dryer door. Also you lift up the clean dishes (that are not hot) out of the dishwasher and hand then to me to put away. You keep your toys picked up, most of the time, too.
You have a very unique sleep schedule that works for our family. You go to bed at 11pm, wake up at 8am, nap at 10am-1pm, but most of the time you wake up from your nap around 12pm. You are a brat if you don't get enough sleep haha.
There are so many more things you do now; its hard to remember them all!

Ade Update

You are almost 2 years and 5 months old (5/21/12)... almost 2 1/2! Your favorite show is Curious George. You remind me so much of that cute little monkey getting into big trouble. You love to find that I have set a sharpie marker too close to the edge. You will color on the walls if I'm not quick enough to catch you. You love to play catch the ball with the cat, but Tiggy doesn't have near of a great time with it as you do haha.
You talk all the time! You love sounding out letters and know them all. I have been also teaching you the colors. You ask if everything is either blue or green. I wonder what your favorite color is. You sing now. You sing "la la la la la la" its really precious.
Today you saw your first humming bird. You really love birds. You'll see one out side and say "HI BIRD!" and when it flies away you say "Oh, bye bird" all sad. You hate bugs. Any kind of bug, it doesn't matter, you don't like it. You will run up to me and tell me "Mommy oh no bug! Mere!" Which means "come here". Then you will take my hand and show me. Yesterday you cried "Mommy mere!" and you were waving you arm like "hurry". So I walked out into the yard and you were bumping something with your shoe. I had you move your foot and realized it was a dead bird. I was yelling for you to go back inside and I had to get the shovel and throw it out of the yard yuck! You were a little confused about the whole ordeal. We came inside and washed our hands... I really hope you weren't out there touching it.
Also you love make up. It makes your whole day when you pull my purse off the counter top. I will find you painting your nails with my liquid eye liner, a big red ring of lipstick around your mouth, dots of eye shadow around your eyes. You are fascinated to watch me put on make up and more often than not I dust some powder on your cute nose.
You have a great sense of humor. You are cracking yourself up ALL THE TIME which in turn cracks me up haha. You can find humor in almost everything. You are quite silly and will no doubt get in trouble in school for being a class clown.
Some words I can not say around you or else you get so worked up are "Park, chocolate, chocolate milk, candy, color, snack" and many others haha.
Your favorite animals are pigs (you have a stuffed animal pig Penny who is your favorite), elephants, birds, fish, owls, ducks, cats and dogs and others.
You are very polite. You ask please, and say thank you and you say "elcom" which means "your welcome". You share your toys like a champ and make a new friend every time we go to the park. It seems other kids are just drawn to your lively personality and happy spirit.
Your favorite food is fish. Tilapia, salmon patties, fish sticks you love it all and eat every bite. You will more than likely be a fisher woman lol. Your favorite vegetable is corn, your favorite fruit is bananas, but you would rather snack on a veggie than a fruit any day. Your love for corn is so intense I have planted a garden outside with corn to show you how its made. You love to help me water the garden =)
I love you so much and I have fun watching you play all day. I like to watch your tv shows with you so that I can teach you about the things you see. I am never bored around you. Your father and I couldn't be more proud of the caring, happy, and kind child you are becoming.

Dear Grown Up Ade Part 1

Ade as you read this and are in the helping of animals field of work let me explain why. You may have noticed an overwhelming urge to help animals in trouble. Let me explain what happened in your childhood. Today as you were fighting nap time I was trying to get things done and decided to wash some of your toys. You sat and watched me sort through your toy box as I removed all the stuffed animals without batteries. Then you followed me curiously into the kitchen where the washer and dryer are. Confused and slightly horrified you witnessed your mother put the stuffed animals in the wash, pour detergent on them along with warm water and shut the lid. While you were crying I tried to explain to you it was an "animal bath". But then I remembered we had a cat and played out this new understanding in my head then revised with "Ummm its a toy bath". You wouldn't take a nap... you were too concerned for their safety. I am sorry I put them in there in front of you lol. I should have waited until you fell asleep for nap time. I love you xoxoxo Mommy.

A Day With Ade

We wake up around 7am and I change Ade's diaper, wash my hands, get coffee brewing, make Ade and I breakfast which is usually scrambled eggs and toast, make Ade a fresh sippy, she watches a care bear movie on netflix, I get on the computer, she chills out and plays with some toys then 2 hours later takes a nap around 9:30am. I TRY to stay awake but nap a good 30% of the time. The days I skip a nap I crochet, get phone calls done, clean the little extras etc. Ade wakes up, we eat lunch together, go outside, later Jesse comes home, then later we eat dinner as a family, and then Jesse gives Ade a bath. We all hang out and play and watch tv together. When Ade goes to bed Jesse plays PS3 and I yell at him to keep quiet lol. The end :)

18,216 Hours Old

Ade is growing up SO FAST! She has been saying and doing so many cute things. This morning I said "Ade say Rise and Shine!" and she said "Fries n' Shine!!!!!!!!!". Every time she sees a stick of deodorant she automatically starts lifting up her shirt on one side and if you hand her the deodorant she will put it under her shirt and try to rub it on her arm pit. She cracks me up each and everyday.
